Olympic Weight Lifting

Olympic weight lifting has been considered as a sport wherein competitors are supposed to lift heavy weights bestrode on steel bars that are called barbells. The execution of such can only be possible with a great accumulation of power, tractability, absorption, skill, will power, discipline (very crucial), athleticness, fitness, technique, mental and physical strength. Olympic weightlifting contains only two events, the "snatch"— at this athletes lifts the barbell over their heads in one continuous movement from the floor. Whenever one compeitor successfully complete the lift and all the requirements related to the completion, the judges beams a white light. If one competitior receives two lights, his or her execution would be granted as a successful one. If one fails to attain a lift, red light is shown. There is a rule in the Olympic weightlifting that a bar should be lifted to at least knee level and that has to be done within 60 seconds of the bar being placed. Competitor are permitted 120 secods for the second lift if one can make two sequential lifts.

A competitor who is preparoing for Olympic weightlifting needs to undergone rigorous training. For that he or she needs to possess an unassailable mind and discipline. As the Snatch and Clean and jerk are the two main events in Olympic weightlifting it also needs assistant exercises like Snatch requires – First Pull (assisted by high pull); Second Pull (assisted by high pull); The Shrug; The Jump and Quick Drop; The Overhead Squat and the Clean and Jerk requires – High Pulls; Hang Jump Shrug; Pull Under and Jump; Front Squat; Jump Dips; Split Jerks; Romanian Dead Lift aka. RDLs. Other than these Squats, front squa are the significant for a weightlifter. Exercises such as snatch balance (Quick Drop), and jerks etc are also plays a significant part in weightlifting.

To be a world class weightlifter one needs to train himself or herself for a few hours for each and very day. Acoording to normal purpose a weightlifter in an normal way train for an hour or two only 2 or 3 maximum times a week. Only those people who has sharpness can excell in the sports called weightlifting. There are some basic and distinguished qualities of a top class weightlifter.
