Weight Lifting Shoes

As all knows that the apparel of an sports person varies according to the sports they plays. It is very much obvious when one talks about the shoes. For example the spiked shoes are mainly contrived for playing baseball. It is quiet impossible for anyone to play football with the spiked shoes that are meant for playing baseball. So it is very much apparent for weightlifting that there should be a different kind of shoes. It has been considered in the world of sports that the weightlifting shoe is sort of radically distinctive. Over the hundred years of international weightlifting competitions the form of the weightlifting shoe has been formulated. The shoe type that is available today is the model in the form of top class weightlifting shoe. These shoes are designed in such a way that very much coincided with the rules and functions of the modern competition program.

The design and the function of the modern weightlifting shoe solely based on the history of the developmental techniques of the weightlifting exercises. In the formation of a intended weightlifting shoe there are two fundamental elements of weightlifting technique that have played significant role. These two are:

  1. The method through which under the barbell the weightlifter proceeded his body.
  2. In the beginning posture to lift the barbell, the tendency of the weightlifter’s principle “kinematic links” (the trunk, thigh and shin).

They are elements are deliberated as the two propelling force behind the evolution of the shoe. This evolution process since the year 1929, has been geared up when the International Weightlifting Federation brought down the competition protocol from five exercises to three. According to the new program it is supplemented with one strength exercise, the press, and two speed strength exercises that are the snatch and the clean and jerk. The press is considered to be somewhat simple test of the strength of the muscles of the arms and shoulder girdle. But the other two, the snatch and clean jerk exercises to an exceptional degree are more complex.

Today the weightlifting shoe comprises of soft comfortable insole, Micro-changeable strap, strengthened straps for extra constancy, Strong blackguard for stability and balance, in order to prevent skidding using rubber grips. Combat boots, Chuck Taylor's, and even leather with a hard glossy surface oxfords are the options for weightlifting shoes till the 1970’s. Today the design of weightlifting shoes has been evolved in such a manner that provides stability to weightlifters to perform in its optimal level. It is inevitable for a weightlifting shoe to offer safety in the fittings in order to provide surpassing support.  On a limited basis, when Adidas from Germany and Kahru of Finland became available in the US, weightlifters finally got the possibility in distinction from others to use equipment designed for their activity. These shoes that are high topped and not especially stylish, had the least possible entreaty to the fashion conscious. But it attracted the lifters as they loved them because ‘they worked’.

There are some technical Rules of the International Weightlifting Federation considering Weightlifting Footwear of which most interesting is the second rule where it has been said that athlete should not have the unfair advantage or additional support through shoe.
