Core Workouts

Core workouts refer to most essential exercises which are usually neglected. Core refers to the point from where every movement in the body originates. Therefore core workouts are said to be the most important part of any fitness program. Core workouts help strengthen core muscles and therefore it is essential to the core muscles of the body.

Benefits of core workouts

The core areas of the body are pelvis and trunk. These are the body parts where the center of gravity exists. There are so many benefits if the core areas of the body are strong. First, it ensures good body protection including bracing for the back. Second, it also helps in controlled movements. With strong core muscles a more stable center of gravity can be achieved. Third, strong core area enhance increased sports movements. How to strengthen the core areas

  1. There should be a wise selection of workouts mostly targeted to the core muscles and core muscles should be worked simultaneously. Exercise for different core muscles should not be done separately. It is always better to do a combination of core workouts that work core muscles together.
  2. In core workouts quality of movement is more important than the quantity. Moreover, the pace of the core workouts should be low and its intensity should be increased in a period of time. The number of repetitions should be increased gradually and the technique involved should be mastered. Here taking help of a good trainer is also advisable.
  3. Breathing freely while doing every core exercise is necessary. Instinctively it may be a bit difficult to breathe freely during exercise session but it is always better to breathe continuously without any hindrance.
  4. If core muscles get tired, rest is must between the workout sessions. Moreover the nature of exercises is also changed to give core muscles some respite. The time gap gives muscles rest and helps rejuvenate them. If the intensity of the core workouts is high a rest of one is advisable.
