Toning Workouts

Toning workouts refers to exercises done to get a firm body. A body with good shape and strong and flexible muscles is known as toned body. Desire to get a toned body is basically a fitness goal but all emphasis are laid o the arms and shoulders. But toning workouts mean more than this. In addition to the slimming, weight loss and arm exercises toning workouts include cardiovascular and diet activities also. The design of toning workouts includes light weigh with good repetitions followed by rest to get toned muscles. This design makes body well defined and increases the metabolism also resulting in the weight loss. The toning workout actually increases the muscle fibers and reduces the body fat to give body a good shape.

Basics of toning workouts

A well defined toning workout program usually contains three components. These are muscular strength, flexibility and Aerobic exercises. Muscular endurance is the force that muscle show against the force applied on them. While doing workouts for muscles, these muscles face challenge and give resistance to it which is almost directly proportional to the force applied. These forces are produced through weight and strength training. It increases the muscle strength and endurance. It takes almost 10 to 12 weeks to improve muscle strength. And the developed muscles decrease the risk of injury and old age problem confirming the benefits of toned muscles. The muscular exercises under the toned workouts require particular muscular strength training. Muscular endurance is the extent of the capacity muscles to give resistance and is best developed with help of workouts like running cycling and such other exercises. Flexibility of muscle shows its range of motion and ensures greater mobility. Aerobic exercises on the other hand are rhythmic and sustained activities. These activities benefit cardiovascular system and results and make lung and heart function properly. Some of the good aerobic exercises include jogging, walking, swimming and cycling which tone the body in the real sense of the term.

Prescription for toning workouts

There are points to be followed to get a toned body without fail.

First, for beginners the one set of toning workout consists of at least of 15 repetitions. But the weight lifted should exceed the capacity. Second, the art and techniques of doing toning workouts should be learnt correctly and the exercises should be done with controlled movements. Third, there should be no abrupt increase in quantity of weight being lifted. An increase in the weight is done only after 3 to 4 weeks. Four, compound exercises are done followed by the single isolated exercise. Fifth, one day is kept between the training and the frequency of training session is kept thrice in a week. Sixth, there should be a rest of 2 to 3 minutes between each set of exercises to avoid fatigue. Seven, stretching exercises are must after every session of toning workouts. Now if all these instructions are followed properly without keeping any prejudice the goal of a toned body can be easily achieved within a specified period of time provided that the diet habit is good and junk foods are avoided.
